Mel is senior vice president and broadcast director at KSM. She brought her expertise in Local TV, Cable and Radio to KSM in 2003. Prior to our agency she held positions at both Initiative and EURO RSCG Tatham, and has forged successful relationships with a range of clients including Six Flags, Bally Total Fitness, Long John Silvers, Gordmans, Aunt Annie’s, P&G, Dean Foods, Jewel, Hoover, Home Depot and Quiznos. Mel earned a B.A. in both psychology and communications from Northern Illinois University.

  • Favorite Super Bowl ad:  Star Wars Volkswagen spot with the little kid
  • Most memorable media moment: TWINS baseball game.  My client at the time was sponsoring MLB – I was the Minneapolis buyer.  The client couldn’t make it to the game so at the last minute the TWINS asked me to throw out the first pitch.  I was thrilled!  I went to the mound and sailed in a strike.  The catcher told me that was the best first pitch he’s ever seen (granted, the game prior a politician’s wife threw it into the dugout so I wasn’t looking at stiff competition).
